Minehead First School Making sure school matters to every child

School Closure 05.01.2021

SCHOOL CLOSURE

Following a directive from the Government, our school will close on Tuesday, 5th January until further notice and all lessons will go 'online'. Obviously, this is very disappointing and frustrating for all of us.

We learnt a great deal from the last lockdown and are much better placed to provide lessons and a more normal learning experience than before

From Tuesday, 5th January, only children of key workers (as defined by the government) and children under the care of social services or who have an EHCP will be able to attend school. These children need to arrive at their normal time and via their usual entrance.

CHILDREN RETURNING TUESDAY, 5th JANUARY:

● Tomorrow hot dinners will be provided as normal. Children are also to come in their outdoor PE clothes and bring a waterproof coat

● Tomorrow your child’s class teacher will be in touch to arrange a google meeting to explain the remote learning timetable and expectations. The school office will also be in touch regarding FSM.

● From Wednesday paper based resources will be available to collect from the school foyer.

● Unfortunately we are unable to provide before or after school club provision from tomorrow.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding at this challenging time.

Yours sincerely,

Adam Evans

PRE SCHOOL

As you will be aware the Government have announced a further National Lockdown, however Early Years settings are to remain open. As I am sure you will appreciate, we have received this information at the same time as you. We will therefore be using tomorrow to gain further guidance and support on how this impacts the running of our Nurseries.

We will be open as normal tomorrow but will update you further regarding future provision during this current National Lockdown. We understand that this is a very confusing time, but we would appreciate you giving us the opportunity tomorrow to decipher what the new guidance and guidelines mean for us.  If you decide not to send your children in tomorrow, please could you communicate this via Tapestry.

Kind regards,

Emma Murch & Gemma Chapman
